Home security video shows three people walking through an apartment parking lot toward the scene of the shooting at 60^th and Oklahoma, carrying what appears to be an AR-style rifle. A moment later after the shooting, the video captures them running away; one is still holding the gun.

Within that 54 second span, Milwaukee Police say the suspects shot four people in an occupied vehicle.

Amanda Figueroa works nearby. She told us, "We heard, like, a big loud noise. A lot of it. Thought someone was banging on our building."

Figueroa added, "Then when I got outside all I heard was a female screaming. And that's when I realized somebody just got shot."

A neighbor told us off camera two victims were women. That neighbor said one was shot in the stomach, the other in the head and elbow.

They were taken to Froedtert Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A 4-year-old and a 9-year-old were also shot and suffered non-fatal injuries.

Tracy Fronczak heard the gunshots a few doors down. She told us, "My son is nine, so that makes me think about him. And he could've been there."

A food truck operator thought at least eight shots were fired, another witness thought it was at least 15.

Tracy thought it was more, saying, "It was well over 20 shots. Well over."

A white Nissan was riddled with bullets in the gas station parking lot. Several windows were shattered.

A neighbor told us a man was also with the car but was not injured.

They said they heard one of the injured children say, "Come with me to the hospital, Daddy."

Several people said there is rarely violence near that intersection, though there is an occasional car accident, and there are lots of kids around.

Fronczak said, "Three kids there, kids there, kids across the street. Kids two apartments down, kids next door. There are kids all over this area that are always out on scooters and bikes."

She described the shooting was so scary, and said as she was trying to explain to her 9-year-old son what happened, she said he wanted to say a prayer for the children that were shot.

So, Fronczak said, "We stood by the line right there and he prayed and he said, 'Please let those little kids be ok.'"

MPD is still looking for unknown suspects.
