During the 1997 Aadipooram festival held on August 10th in Samarpan Temple, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, which was conducted with the much celebrated Kalasa Velvi Pooja, Amma revealed Her/His presence. With Amma's blessings, the devotees conducted the Velvi (Yagna) with Naaga Chakra. After the pooja, devotees carried their respective Kalasas around the Yaaga Saalai to perform Abishekam to Karuvarai portrait. It is at this time, that Amma revealed Her/His presence. When one of the devotees from Long Island, New York, named Ranganathan SundaraMoorthy, splashed the Holy water (Theertham) from his Kalasam on the portrait, he saw that the Kum-Kum Pottu (Bindhi) on the Adigalaar's forehead got washed away. He felt sorry and attempted to correct his mistake by re-applying the bindhi on Amma's forehead. Right at that moment, Amma (Adigalaar) opened His eyes and looked at Ranganathan. He was awestruck and couldn't utter a word. He thought it was an illusion, so closed his eyes, shook his head and looked at the portrait again. Amma's eye were still open and was looking at him. Then after sometime, Amma closed His eyes. Just by opening His eyes, S(H)e showed us that, in fact, S(H)e was there to conduct and accept the velvi. Oh Mother! The Creator of All, The All Knowledgeable, The All Powerful, The Cause and The Effect, The Supreme Universal Soul beyond all, We surrender to Your Lotus Feet. Please accept it Mother.
